In 2010, 38 suspense films were released. The gross intake for all these films was £42,441,123. Action/thrillers in 2010 took in over £265,784,158. Animation, Fantasy, Musicals, Horror and Drama all took in over 100 million pounds. Part of the reason for this is the fact that films such as animation, fantasy and musicals are mainly family based, thus they are bringing in a wider audience. Films like toy story 3, Shrek and Nanny Mcphee have a wider audience than a suspense film does.
