Film Genre and the Cinema in 2010

Animation
A total of 38 Suspense films were released in 2010. All 38 films had a total gross of £42 million whilst the genre that had the highest gross in 2010 was Action/Adventure at a total of £265 million. The most popular family genres in that year included Animation, Fantasy, Musicals and Action/Adventure. Suspense films are generally very popular (e.g The Bourne series) but in 2010 a mere total of 38 films were released and they came to a total gross of a meagre £42 million. The reason why the suspense genre did not gross as much as an animation or fantasy film is because these genres are family friendly and can be watched by parents and children alike whilst suspense is aimed at adults and is not as family orientated. Films like animation , fantasy and adventure had over 100 million pounds gross in 2010.
